For the tick-value model, enter profitable and losing tick values in the P&L currency shown under Specifications and costs. The result is then converted to account cents.

Choose the P&L model that matches your broker specification. For stocks and crypto, one volume unit may mean one share, one coin or another unit. Check contract size, tick and volume increments before trading.
Enter monetary tick value in the P&L currency. Tick model assumes a constant tick value from entry through stop and target.

Position size formula and assumptions
Size = risk limit / loss per unit at the stop, then limited by margin and contract specifications and rounded down to the volume step. Loss uses the selected contract model, specified costs and currency conversion. For the tick model: price change / tick size × losing tick value. Lot size, tick size and tick value are set by the broker.
Excluded: swaps, taxes and unexpected gaps. Zero spread, commission, slippage or funding excludes that cost from the model. Prefilled prices are examples.
Broker margin requirements may differ.
For EUR/USD: a pip is 0.0001 in price; a quote point is 0.00001; the pip/point ratio is 10:1. Distances are measured between entered levels; monetary results include execution prices and costs.
Presets are examples, not live quotes. Verify volume, contract size, price tick, commission, tick value and margin with your broker or exchange before placing an order.
