FINBORS

Privacy and data

How FINBORS uses data and how you can manage it.

Device preferences

Language, instruments, time zone and widget choices are saved in browser localStorage. The new /journal/ journal keeps trades in this browser and does not send their contents to analytics. Clearing browser data may remove records. Keep backups.

Optional analytics

Page and click collection starts after consent. Events contain section, action category, language, device category, referrer category, timestamp and viewing duration. Form contents, trades and screenshots are excluded. A random session identifier in tab sessionStorage links actions within that session; each event has a separate identifier. These are pseudonymous technical data, not a guarantee of anonymity: sessions are not unique people and are not used to establish their names.

Analytics retention

Aggregates are retained for up to 366 days and deduplication receipts for up to 24 hours, with cleanup on incoming events. Withdraw consent using Privacy. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable analytics.

News translation

The server may send a public headline and language pair to MyMemory for machine translation. Journal contents and visitor data are not included in that request.

External services

When quotes are enabled, TradingView receives technical connection data, including your IP address, under its own privacy rules. The FINBORS server collector, including GitHub Actions, retrieves InstaForex, TraderSentiments and CoinGecko sentiment data: this page does not load their browser widgets or send them your IP. Following an external link opens the provider website. FINBORS analytics consent does not authorize external widgets.

Reference exchange rates and security search

The calculator requests reference exchange rates directly from api.frankfurter.dev, which receives your IP address and connection data. These are not executable prices. Security search uses OpenFIGI through the FINBORS server: the query is sent, but the visitor IP is not forwarded. External providers may process data outside your country under their own policies.

Delivery and outbound links

Hosting and Cloudflare security process technical requests and may use necessary security cookies. After analytics consent, the session cookie finbors_click_consent conveys your choice to the server and contains no unique identifier. /go/ links then count aggregate clicks by destination and campaign. Without consent they redirect without counting. Telegram applies its own rules when opened.

Data enquiries

Contact administration through @fin_bors for corrections or deletion requests. Include the page and request without passwords. Export and remove local journal data through its interface. Earlier journal records remain at the old address until you transfer them.
